Dietetics done differently.

Rachel Armstrong, APD

I’m Rachel your neurodivergent dietitian! I have been working as a dietitian since 2018 in areas including sports nutrition, private practice and disability. I am a late diagnosed Autistic person and am passionate about working with neurodivergent people of all ages to help them with the wide variety of challenges they face surrounding food. I also have additional training in feeding therapy, gut health and food intolerances.

In my practice, I focus on functional outcomes and overall health rather than the number on the scale. Every body is different and we shouldn’t expect them to conform to outdated standards.

Get to know me

Food is my long term special interest, as I child I wanted to run my own restaurant or be a food critic. I’ve worked as a barista, a cook, in quality control in the food industry and now I’m a dietitian! I’ve always found a way to work in food.

I have a lot of lived experienced through my own and my family members Autism/ADHD food related challenges. I believe this helps me provide realistic advice alongside the continuous learning I do working with all of you. I also believe that becoming a parent has given me irreplaceable insight into the the difficulties of navigating neurodiversity within the family dynamic.

When I’m not working or parenting you can find me playing cozy games, supporting local music, reading my Kindle or doom scrolling on my phone.
